Ezekiel 28:12-17

¡§Thus says the Lord God, ¡§You had the seal of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty.  You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone was your covering¡K. You were the anointed cherub who covers, and I placed you¡K. You were blameless in your ways from the day you were created, until unrighteousness was found in you.  By the abundance of your trade you were internally filled with violence, and you sinned; therefore I have cast you as profane from the mountain of God¡K. Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty; you corrupted your wisdom by reason of your splendor.  I cast you to the ground; ¡K¡¨

    God made wonderful beings called angels and cherubim to live in His presence to serve Him.  These beings were also to help and serve people after they were created.

    But one being, a cherub, became jealous of God and his glory.  His jealousy grew into hatred.  He wanted to rule over his creator.  He came into the Garden of Eden.  He appeared as a serpent and lied to Eve.  Eve liked the idea of his lie.  She did not realize it was a twist of truth.  Both Adam and Eve disobeyed God¡¦s command.  God punished His enemy, whose name is Satan.  He has other names also.

    Satan is our enemy also.  God punished Adam and Eve just as He said He would if they disobeyed.

    Have you ever disobeyed?  We all do.  We need to ask God to forgive us.  We need to ask the person we disobeyed to forgive us.

II Kings 19:15

¡§And Hezekiah prayed before the LORD and said,

¡§O LORD,

the God of Israel,

who art enthroned above the cherubim,

Thou are the God,

Thou alone,

of all the kingdoms of the earth.

Thou hast made heaven and earth.¡¨

    God created angels, cherubim and other beings who were with Him where He is.  When Adam and Eve disobeyed God He would not let them live in the Garden of Eden any longer.  He sent them out.

    At the east of the Garden of Eden He placed His cherubim and a flaming sword, which turned every direction.  They were to guard the tree of life so no one could eat from it.  We do not know how many cherubim there were by they obeyed God.

    Remember counting.  Words help us count also.  Look at these:

     1 = one:  cherub     1 = one:  child

      2 = two:  cherubim   2 = two:  children

     Many = cherubim     Many = children

You cannot see cherubim to count them unless God shows them to you.  You can see the children and count them.  Name your friends and count them.

The Bible tells you this story:  Genesis 3:22-24,  Numbers 22:21-35,

Ezekiel 1:4-28, Ezekiel 10:1-22

Genesis 3:20

Now the man called his wife¡¦s name Eve,

because she was the mother of all living.

    Cain was the first baby God gave a Mommy and Daddy.  His Daddy¡¦s name was Adam.  His Mommy¡¦s name was Eve.  Cain did not have a brother or sister or any other child to play with.

    What is your Daddy¡¦s name?  What is your Mommy¡¦s name?  Would you like to be the only child in the world?  Cain was.

    You can read this story in the Bible:  Genesis 4:1.

Genesis 4:2

And again, she gave birth to his brother Abel.

And Abel was a keeper of flocks,

But Cain was a tiller of the ground.

    Adam and Eve had a little boy named Cain.  Do you remember reading about him?  They had a second son and his name was Abel.  They grew up together with their mommy and daddy.

    Cain and Abel¡¦s Daddy had a nice garden.  They pulled the weeds and planted little seeds.  These grew into good-tasting vegetables.

    Do you like to eat vegetables?  What is your favorite vegetable?  Do you like to help in the garden?  Do you like to help water plants in the house?

    You can read this story in the Bible:  Genesis 4:2-4,  Hebrews 11:1-4
